Version 1.0 Effective 2026-01-01 Trade Finance AI

This document explains, without softening it, what the AI in TradeFinanceAI can and cannot be relied upon to do. It forms part of the Terms of Service. If you take one thing from it: the platform produces an analysis for a qualified professional to evaluate, and the professional judgement — and the responsibility that goes with it — stays with you.

01What generates the output

Answers are generated by a large language model, guided by a curated knowledge base of trade finance standards and practice. The model reasons over text; it does not consult the actual instrument in front of you, does not see the physical documents unless you upload them, and has no access to any bank's internal policy, any live sanctions list, or any court or arbitral record.

02It can be wrong

03What it is not

The output is not legal advice, regulatory advice, tax advice, accounting advice or investment advice. It is not a document examination under UCP 600 article 14, not a notice of refusal, not a compliance or sanctions clearance, not a credit decision, and not a determination binding on any bank, applicant, beneficiary, insurer or court. No lawyer-client, banker-customer, advisory or fiduciary relationship is created by using this platform.

04Verify before you act

Before you rely on anything the platform tells you, and always before a decision with money or a deadline attached — refusing documents, issuing a discrepancy notice, releasing or withholding payment, accepting a counterparty, amending a credit — you must:

Any deadline under the applicable rules — including the five-banking-day examination period — runs against you, not against this platform. Nothing here extends it.

05Sanctions and financial crime

The platform does not screen names against sanctions, PEP or watch lists, and a "no compliance concern flagged" result is not a screening result. Where the Match Deal module reports a sanctions or PEP consideration it is reasoning from what you entered, and is a prompt to escalate to your compliance function — never a substitute for it.

06What you submit

Only submit documents and data you are entitled to submit. Your documents and conversations are used to answer your request and to maintain your own history; they are not used to train models and are not shared with other customers. See the Privacy Policy.

07Where responsibility sits

You are the professional of record. TradeFinanceAI accepts no liability for any decision taken, or not taken, in reliance on its output, and no liability for loss arising from an error, omission or out-of-date statement in that output. The limits and exclusions in clause 11 of the Terms of Service apply to this document in full.

08Human oversight

Every screen that presents AI-generated analysis is designed to be reviewed by a qualified examiner and labels its output as AI-generated. If a result looks wrong, it may well be wrong: trust your own reading of the instrument over the platform's, and tell us, so the knowledge base can be corrected.
